Utorrent how to move files after download

Since one month or two ago I have noticed that finished downloads are not moving any more from the downloaded folder to another. What can be causing that? I've updated today to uTorrent 3. This was working before and I believe this behavior started happening after upgrading to one of the 3. Not sure which, though. I have attached the default configuration I use for a new torrent download. Do you see anything wrong with it?

Add to the fact that i use a GB ssd and would prefer to have all my downloaded files be targeted to my mags instead to spare the lifespan of the ssd. Looks fine to me. The thing that comes to mind is either an error in the destination path name itself? Or do not have write permission there? Or not enough free space? Try test with just a local drive as a move destination folder. When the "Move completed downloads to:" is configured with a local drive it works, but it doesn't when you connect to a network drive.

This smells to bug! I guess I should report this to the "Bug Reports" forum. Can you move this post, Rafi? Or should I create a new one? Is there any way to make the downloads go straight into iTunes, and preferably a specific app VLC within iTunes? However, I upgraded to Windows 8. It seems that this is working as expected in 8. Hound, regarding your question, you can use the "run program after download" utorrent feature, just as explained in Lifehacker , and use VLC command line, as stated in its documentation.

Not sure if I need to open a new topic, since my situation is close to identical to this one. Would like to ask for some help, so here it goes My setup: uTorrent 3. My data storage is on a NAS, and is mounted as networked drive W:.

So the strange thing is that it does recognize the networked drive for storing the download. But it does not work when running the move command. Same goes for the location of. Nothing is being moved. Step 1 : The first thing we have to do is stop the current download so that the files are not being accessed or updated by uTorrent. To do this, just right-click on the torrent and choose Stop. Do not Pause the download. Step 2 : Now that the torrent has stopped downloading, we can change the download location for this torrent.

To do this, right-click on the torrent again, choose Advanced and then choose Set Download Location. A new dialog will pop up asking you where to download your torrent file to. Navigate to the new location and just click Select Folder.

You may have to wait a little bit if a large amount of data has to be transferred over to the new location. Step 3 : Now that the files have been moved, you need to start up the download again. Simply right-click on the torrent again and choose Start. The folder will automatically create the file when you start the download. And it will remain there after the download is finished. Changing the location too often can result in mislaying files. But what are you supposed to do now?

Is there a way to get the file without starting over? Fortunately, there is. Just follow these steps:. And that the percentage is moving upwards again. This is much preferable to starting from the beginning and having to waste a lot of time.

One thing frequent uTorrent users are always on the lookout for is faster download speeds. Sure, your internet connection speed and stability are crucial factors. But there are things you can do in uTorrent settings that will make a lot of difference too.

Some people only download one torrent at a time.
